Several teams are keeping an eye on James Roberts amongst whispers that he is on the outer at Brisbane, according to theย Daily Telegraph.ย
It is understood that Roberts' relationship with Anthony Seibold with has grown sour and does not compare to the one he shared with Wayne Bennett. It comes amid recent reports that the pair were going to reunite in South Sydney.
Roberts' recent drunken scandal where he was photographed being carried bout of nightclub has reportedly tarnished Seibold's view of him.
Bennett was asked if the club had made any progress replacing the recently retired Greg Inglis, to which he replied: โVery quiet.โ
"(We have) not (been looking) too hard."ย
Itโs hard to believe that James Roberts was the most well behaved when he was at the Gold Coast of all places, But seriously not sure a move back to where all the problems started is the best option for Roberts. All you can really do is hope that he finally pulls it together and can finish off on a high back in Sydney but it really is a risky move.
Is there any club other than Broncos who can sweep his many indiscretion under the rug so easily.

Souths don’t need Roberts. To bring him back to an environment where it all began would be crazy and Souths aren’t that that desperate. I’m sure Souths have other solutions.

Jimmy is a troubled soul – and I donโt think moving back to Sydney is smart. He is practically a senior player now and needs to show some maturity. He should stay with the Broncos and be mentored into a leadership role.
I was only commenting on the rumours, but you are correct, if he was in Sydney he would gravitate to the dark side.
As a Bronco fan, I desperately want him to stay. However, he does have addiction battles. I hope Jimmy does what is best for his health and sobriety. If being with Wayne is what he needs to stay sober and healthy then I hope it works for him. If he wants to stay a Bronco then I hope the club help him and support him. He has the potential to go down as a great. There have been a few players over the years that the Broncos could have helped and kept and pushing them out of the club was certainly not helpful to those players. (e.g. Chris Walker) We love Jimmy here so what ever he decides we support him!

Greg Inglis multiple transgressions, Burgess Brothers Facebook antics, Multiple woman bashers in the club and two were allowed to play in their purchased grand final victory of 2014. Mate the list is endless. Going to souffffffs will be the worst thing possible. He has to learn to stand on his own and not rely on Bennett or any body else to pull him into line. He has to have self disapline. Staying away from soufffffths is his best chance of him growing up and finding himself. He canโt keep running away from himself. He has to make a stand. That means saying NO and sticking to it. All his old buddies in a toxic environment around those not so good suburbs at souffffffths suburbs will drag him into the gutter. Stay in Brisbane and grow some ๐ฆต๐ฑ๐ฑ๐between those legs.
