Jack Cogger signs with Canterbury

Promising Newcastle halfback Jack Cogger has signed a two-year deal with the Bulldogs starting in 2019.

The 20-year old is currently contracted with the Knights until the end of the 2018 season, with Nathan Brown adamant he will not be granted an early release.

His signing follows on from Newcastle's recent recruitment of Roosters duo Mitchell Pearce and Connor Watson. The opportunity to play regular first-grade football was definitely a key factor in his decision, whilst his time working with Dean Pay in the NSW Under-20s would have made the move even more enticing.

The signing of Jack Cogger is an interesting move by the Bulldogs with both Josh Cleeland and Matt Frawley coming off-contract at the end of 2018.

Moses Mbye's move to fullback has thrown the race to the vacant halfback position wide-open as Dean Pay looks to reinvigorate Canterbury's attack.

In more good news for Bulldogs fans, Kiwi international Greg Eastwood has been cleared to resume full training. His recent heart scare has been deemed not to have any further impact on his playing future.

Greg will be looking to put his best foot forward as he enters the final year of his contract at Canterbury.
