St George Illawarra skipper Gareth Widdop may have played his last game for the club after re-injuring his shoulder in Thursday night's win over the Broncos.

The Englishman dislocated his shoulder late in the second half and had to be helped off the ground by a trainer.

Dragons coach Paul McGregor revealed that the early prognosis did not look good for the 30-year old.

“It’s bad,” McGregor told reporters post-match.

“I’m not a doctor, but he’s uncomfortable. It’s dislocated.

“We’ve got a ready-made replacement in (Matt) Dufty.”

Widdop injured the same shoulder last year and required surgery in the off-season, causing him to miss England's series win over New Zealand.

He is set to depart the Dragons at the end of the season to return to England.
