Both Blake Austin and Josh Hodgson will take their place on the field for the Raiders semi-final, after both were cleared to take on the Panthers following the team’s final training session.
Both players trained for the full session at the Green Machine’s Captains run this morning and have been given the all clear to play following the teams recovery session.
Hodgson said his recovery from an ankle injury had been better than expected and praised the Raiders medical staff for their efforts to get him on the field.
“I am a bit surprised, but at the same time excited. The physios have been fantastic and sorted me out straight away once it happened,” Hodgson said. “I spent three full days in the physio room getting the bruising and swelling sorted out. I’m really grateful and looking forward to the game tomorrow.
After a tumultuous week Hodgson said it was now all about the game and said he can’t wait to get out on the field against Penrith.
“These are the games you want to play. This is why you play rugby league, to play on the big stage in the big games. It’s going to be tough but we are aiming to make it a lot tougher for them.
