New Zealand halfback Blake Green has sensationally been heard yelling "just kick us out of the comp" after teammate Adam Blair was sin-binned late in the Warriors' win over Manly on Friday night.
Blair was sent to the bin in the dying stages of the match, as the Sea Eagles were mounting a comeback that ultimately fell short, as the Warriors recorded a 24-16 win.
While the bunker was looking at the play in question involving Blair, Green could be heard yelling: “All this bulls*** they throw at us. Just kick us out of the comp, man. Don’t even worry about it. There’s plenty of Australian teams.”
Warriors coach Stephen Kearney was asked about Green's comments post-game, and he believes they stretch back to Green's anger from last week, where the Warriors lost to the Eels by two points, before the NRL confirmed post-game the referees had made three crucial errors in the match.
“I’m going to have to talk to Blake about that one,” Kearney said.
“To be honest, it’s been unprecedented in terms of what they had to endure leading into last weekend’s game, post the Eels match.
“I don’t want to say anymore on that. We’re just hashing up old stuff. It’s in the past and we’ll just focus on what’s in front of us.”
The Warriors are now up to 11th on the NRL ladder, and sit just two points behind Brisbane in eighth place.
