Thanks for following along, andย Zero Tackleย will see you next year for the 2025 State of Origin series as the NSW Blues look to win in back-to-back years

Here is some other news from around theย NRL.

FULL TIME

NSW Blues 14 (Tries: Bradman Best, Mitchell Moses Goals:ย Zac Lomax 3) defย QLD Maroons 4ย (Goals:ย Valentine Holmes 2)

The NSW Blues have claimed the State of Origin shield for the first time since 2021 and won their first series decider at Suncorp Stadium in 19 years.

An all-time classic, the match will go down in history as one of the best first-half performances in Origin history. The victory is also Michael Maguire's first in the State of Origin arena after taking over the coaching reigns from Brad Fittler.

68' NSW 14-4

TRY - Mitchell Moses scores. The star halfback places a left-foot step on Harry Grant before breaking through a Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow tackle and running straight past Reece Walsh.

Zac Lomax converts the try as NSW Blues take the 14-2 lead.

66' NSW 8-4

TRY - Bradman Best scores the opening try of the match. Jarome Luai breaks through the QLD defence after throwing a dummy and links up with Best on his outside who fends off Newcastle Knights teammates Dane Gagai and Kalyn Ponga to cross the line.

Zac Lomax converts the try from the sideline swinging the ball back into the goal as NSW Blues take the 8-2 lead.

63' QLD 4-2

PENALTY GOAL - Valentine Holmes converts a penalty goal as Queensland take the lead by two points. QLD received the penalty following a high tackle by Reece Robson - the fourth penalty received by QLD in a row.

46' 2-2

PENALTY GOAL - Scores are level! Zac Lomax drains the conversion from the sideline after the Blues received a penalty via an obstruction by Valentine Holmes.

44' QLD 2-0

GREAT TACKLE - An amazing tackle from Mitchell Moses takes down Reece Walsh who had nothing but open grass in front of him. The Parramatta Eels halfback looks winded as the Blues receive the ball back.

41' QLD 2-0

We are back! NSW Blues kick-off to the Maroons with Lindsay Collins taking the first hit-up and running straight into his Sydney Roosters teammate Spencer Leniu.

HALF-TIME: QLD MAROONS 2 DEFEATING NSW BLUES 0

40' 2-0

PENALTY GOAL - Valentine Holmes converts a penalty goal. QLD receive a penalty within goal-kicking range after Spencer Leniu takes out Daly Cherry-Evans after veteran kicked the ball.

33' 0-0

TRY SAVER - Tom Dearden produces an amazing try-saving tackle on Stephen Crichton but the NSW Blues have been gifted another penalty due to foul play by Reece Walsh after Crichton dropped the ball.

32' 0-0

DROP OUT - Jarome Luai's great kicking game continues forcing another drop out from the QLD Maroons.

31' 0-0

SIN BIN - Jeremiah Nanai and Cameron Murray have been sent to the sin-bin. After a pushing match between Daly Cherry-Evans and Jarome Luai, Nanai and Murray entered the scuffle and are given their marching orders by Ashley Klein.

Due to Cameron Murray being on the interchange bench, the Blues have to take a player off from the field and that individual is Mitchell Barnett in his debut match.

22' 0-0

DROP OUT - After re-gathering the ball from their own drop-out, QLD makes 80 metres and forces a drop-out from the Blues. Tom Dearden produces an amazing dummy-and-run, only being stopped by Dylan Edwards.

21' 0-0

DROP OUT - Back-to-back drop-out for QLD as they continue to defend their line. NSW look extremely close to scoring here.

19' 0-0

DROP OUT - The Blues force a dropout from QLD after a pitch-perfect kick by Jarome Luai before Cameron Murray forces Selwyn Cobbo back into the in-goal area.

17' 0-0

BREAKING - Angus Crichton has passed his HIA and will return to the field immediately. One of the best players in the opening two matches, Michael Maguire is lucky to have him available and back on the field.

15' 0-0

KNOCK ON - The Blues looked promising inside QLD's 20 metres but failed to get points on the board as Lima Martin knock the ball on after a textbook tackle by three Maroons defenders.

9' 0-0

PENALTY - Kurt Capewell lifts Stephen Crichton in a tackle allowing the Blues to enter their opponent's 20 metres and provide them with the first real attacking opportunity.

3' 0-0

BREAKING - The Blues have suffered a major blow with Angus Crichton exiting the field for a HIA. Mitchell Barnett enters the match on his Origin debut.

2' 0-0

OPPORTUNITY - The NSW Bles have the first try opportunity of the match as they run down the right-hand side of the field making 40 metres through Bradman Best.

Best is taken down by a Daly Cherry-Evans' ankle tap and losses the ball.

1' 0-0

KICK OFF - The match have officially begun. The Maroons are kicking off and are running from left to right. Payne Haas takes the first hit-up of the match and is met with a barrage of QLD defenders.

Theย NSWย Bluesย andย QLD Maroons have run out onto the Suncorp Stadium and we are now just minutes away from the opening kick-off.

7:10pm

The 2024 State of Origin series decider is now less than 60 minutes from kick-off! As you get ready to watch the game live at Accor Stadium, from the couch or at the pub, take a look at these feature stories from earlier in the week.

7:05pm

The official team lists have been confirmed, with theย NSWย Bluesย andย QLD Maroons making no late omissions.

However, QLD have made several team changes with Ben Hunt, Lindsay Collins and Jeremiah Nanai moving to the interchange bench.

The new front-row will consist of Moeaki Fotuaika and Felise Kaufusi while Harry Grant will start at hooker and Reuben Cotter has been pushed to the second-row.

6:45pm

It is now 30 minutes until team lists are confirmed for both teams.

Earlier today, reports emerged that an NRL club opened talks with NSW Blues representative forward Spencer Leniu to sign him on a long-term contract. He is currently contracted with the Sydney Roosters until the end of 2025 and is on around $525,000 per season.

6:30pm

Who do you think will win? Who will be crowned the Wally Lewis Medal winner?

Ahead of the Origin decider, QLD Maroons coach Billy Slate smacked down any suggestions he or any member of his coaching staff has had a falling out withย Selwyn Cobbo.
