FIVE potential landing spots for Braydon Trindall

The breakout half can talk to teams from November 1.

The Sharks sit a game away from the Grand Final thanks to a wonderful season.

One of the main catalysts for said season has been their five-eighth Braydon Trindall.

Fresh off a best on ground performance against the Cowboys in last Friday night's Semi Final, Trindall has been quoted as saying he's "heading to November one".

Off contract at the end of the 2025 season, Trindall is set to be in hot demand. Especially should be be able to steer his Sharks past the behemoth that is the Penrith Panthers.

Below we look at five potential landing destinations for Braydon Trindall:

Cronulla Sharks

Although Trindall will wait to hit the open market, deservedly so, the Sharks will consider themselves front runners to retain his services.

Part of the Sharks 2018 Flegg Premiership winning team and then the Newtown Jets 2019 NSW Cup and State Champions, Trindall has been in the Sharks system for so long now.

The Sharks also stood by him earlier in the season when it looked as though they may actually move on from the talented yet troubled Trindall.

Trindall, supposedly on around $300,00- per season, is having a career best year. For what it is worth, my co-host and I awarded him our Sharks Player of the Year in 2024.

He has been instrumental for the Sharks on both sides of the ball.

Attacking wise, he has 12 tries, 18 try assists, 16 line-break assists and nine forced dropouts. In defence he has helped sure up the comically bad left edge that the Sharks endured in 2023.

Cronulla would be mad to let a few dollars get between them and Trindall's long-term signature.

My feeling is that he will instantly become the priority in the Shire.

Brisbane Broncos

Although born in NSW, Trindall has represented QLD at Junior Origin level. I can't imagine it would be overly difficult to entice Trindall back to the sunshine state.

Adam Reynolds is 34 year's of age and coming to the end of his career.

Trindall lining up in the six or seven for the Broncos would line up perfectly.

Although playing as the five-eight now, Trindall played seven through Flegg and NSW Cup and truthfully plays more of a seven role for the Sharks right now.

The Broncos halfback jersey is sought after while you'd have to imagine Reynolds salary would be made available for his replacement.

Trindall is in a very good spot where he can leverage the Broncos offer against the Sharks, or simply move to Brisbane.

He would be the main man at Red Hill and would form an exciting partnership with Ezra Mam.

Newcastle Knights

The Knights are a team who have played two straight Finals series on the back of brilliance from the fullback.

This may sound harsh but they've managed to play Finals despite not having an obvious first choice halfback.

Trindall would immediately solve any such issues.

His kicking game is far superior to anything currently on the Knights roster, while his defence is right up there for halfback options.

Trindall's presence would, perhaps most importantly, take the pressure of Kalyn Ponga. That is priority number one for the Newcastle brainstrust.

Newcastle are currently undergoing a massive roster overhaul. I'd expect three or four more players to head for the exit, showing they're looking for change.

Whenever a Finals winning halfback comes on the market, teams sit up and take notice.

I would be shocked if Newcastle weren't right at the forefront of that list of clubs.

Gold Coast Titans

The Titans are another side who have pieces, yet lack the final product.

Kieran Foran has extended his stay on the holiday strip for another season but cannot play forever.

Meanwhile Des Hasler doesn't seem to know what to do with Aj Brimsom. I'm not sure he is the answer to partnering Jayden Campbell long-term.

Again, Trindall played his junior footy in southern Queensland so the Titans makes a lot of sense in terms of a likely landing destination.

With Foran surely retiring at the end of 2025, Trindall would be an ideal replacement and a long-term option in the seven.

The Titans are heavily invested into their two superstar forwards so they'd need to make their remaining money count.

Trindall has had a wow of a season yet still hasn't hit the heights to make him a million dollar half.

Des Hasler promises to be as active as possible in the coming months with a look to 2025, 26 and beyond.

Following Trindall's comments about being headed for November 1st, expect the Sharks half to become a major talking point.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

With the greatest of respects to Toby Sexton, the Dogs look a genuine halfback option away from something special.

Matt Burton really developed into a quality five-eight over 2024 while the rest of the Dogs roster is stacked.

I'm certainly not having a go at Sexton here, a player I a a huge fan of, but Trindall shapes as a serious upgrade. At least on recent form.

The Dogs have shown themselves to be the most active side in the market. They looked set to add Jahrome Luai only to miss out late to the Tigers.

Gus Gould is a smart operator and he can recognise value.

Given the money the Dogs have elsewhere, they'll have to find a bargain. Trindall at $600,000 suddenly looks like serious value.

Gould singled out Trindall for praise following the Sharks drought breaking Finals win on Friday night.

I'm 100% sure the Dogs could make the moves required to free up cap space to have a red hot crack at Trindall.
