We are drawing ever closer to the beginning of the 2024 season.
Although we're yet to even see a team names for the first set of official trials, teams are looking toward their 2025 rosters.
There is literally millions of dollars worth of NRL talent off-contract and able to discuss their futures for 2025 and beyond.
One such player is the extremely talented Adam Doueihi.
Despite enjoying a level of success with the Tigers, I get the feeling it is time to move on for the five-eighth turned centre turned five-eighth again.
I have no doubt in the world that there will be a host of clubs looking at the 25 year-old.
Below are five very possible potential landing destinations for Adam Doueihi.
I don't see re-signing with the Tigers as an option. He has previously expressed frustrations with his role within the club while I believe the Tigers need to move also.
3. Newcastle Knights
Despite the incredible success enjoyed by the Knights last season, I'm still not entirely convinced that the club has nailed on their long-term spine.
Jack Cogger is an excellent addition and should push for a spot in the six or seven, but even with his signing the club may look for further moves.
Doueihi could join former Tiger Jackson Hastings in the running for one of the halves positions from '25 onwards.
Or he could move wide and fight for a centre spot beside Bradman Best.
Dane Gagai can't play forever and may even shift to the wing if required to fit a potential Doueihi move.
The Knights have signed well but they haven't replaced Dom Young. Typing that I realise how hard it is to truly replace Dom Young.
Newcastle have plenty of options on their books but no one who currently stands at above the rest. At centre/wing or in the halves.
Keep an eye on this one. I'd guess that there won't be a link, or a need, unless Newcastle falter early.
If they start slow then there may even be a push for an early release for Doueihi to join in mid to late 2024.
