5. New Zealand vs Penrith โ€“ Round 4

Iโ€™ve been a Rugby League fan for long enough to understand that you canโ€™t really have a second favourite team. Maybe you can feel sorry for a team like the Gold Coast because theyโ€™re rubbish, and you might still long for the return of The Adelaide Rams with Cameron Blair charging up the middle. However, as a League fan you must surely understand the sacrifice that the New Zealand Warriors are making so that we could see Rugby League played in 2020 and have a soft spot for them. Theyโ€™ve left their young families at home and moved abroad for the 2020 season. And to make things worse and adding insult to injury, they then sent them to Tamworth, where line dancing and yodelling are still active pastimes.

The Panthers, nothing shows the gladiatorial aspect more of Rugby League like grown men uploading a choreographed dance onto social media during a lock down for a global pandemic. It would be hard to imagine Royce Simmons getting together Brandy and the gang from 1991 for a devised dance for others to see. Dancing aside, after the first two rounds, Penrith are undefeated. They have a crafty hooker in Api Koroisau and Vilame Kikau is devastating down the edge. This game might be a chance for the Panthers to really show their worth as a football team and put a bit of a score on the Warriors. But it maybe itโ€™s time the Warriors showed their worth, even though theyโ€™re so far from home.

Predicted Headline: Homeless Warriors still searching for first win.

Predicted Score: Penrith 32 โ€“ Warriors 14.
