2. Melbourne vs Canberra โ Round 3
A true grudge match for Round 3. Last time they met was in the Qualifying Final in 2019, with the Raiders getting the chocolates on the buzzer twelve points to ten. Craig Bellamy seems to be the kind of man that would hold a grudge and will use that game as motivation for his troops.
Both sides have dominant hookers in Smith and Hodgson, who control their teams and steer them effortlessly around the park. For the Raiders, the loss of Aidan Sezer will be a bigger loss than people think, but Curtis Scott will want to have a strong game against his old club. With both teams looking to start the rebooted season with a win, it could be a fiery encounter. Who knows, a bit of biff might erupt when they argue about which team comes from the city with the more miserable weather.
