The 2023 season might be gearing up for the finals, but in the ever-changing world of the NRL transfer market, attention is already shifting to 2024 and beyond.

Every NRL side has less than ten spots available in their Top 30 for next season, while a select handful of clubs are closing in on a full complement already.

Zero Tackle have compiled the current status of every NRL club for 2024, with signings, losses, players still off-contract, full squads, best 17, and an overview of what every club still needs to be successful come next season.

You can use our easy dropdown menu below to navigate between each club, and we will update this every time there is a signing or player movement for next year so that you can keep on top of how your club is shaping up for next season.

What they still need

The Storm has a bit of room left in their squad for next season, but with likely little in the way of money left, they could well hand promotions to development players Sualauvi Faalogo, Cole Geyer and Tristan Powell to utilise three of the remaining seven spots.

Outside of that, though, the other signings will also be for depth - the Storm have one of the better top 17s in the competition. When there is no way into the 13 for Nick Meaney and Josh King, and a player like Tyran Wishart misses out on the 17 altogether, that is clear to see.

Those depth signings, though - crucial as they are - will be needed more or less right across the board for the Storm, who have seven spots available.

A promotion for Geyer probably takes care of the need for another number nine, given Wishart can play there as well, while off-contract players, the off-contract Dean Ieremia, would take care of any further needs in the backs.

In the forward, Tariq Sims's leaving means the Melbourne Storm could look outside of their own group to bring in an experienced player.

This is fairly free play for the Storm though, given they have no obvious holes in their best 17.

  1. Sharks: New signings NIL. Roster spots available NIL.
Donโ€™t expect any improvement this year if Craig Fitzgibbon does not give game-time to the players the club has been developing.
If he thinks that they are never going to be better than NSW Cup, why has he re-signed them?
