Zero Tackle rewinds to the past as the QLD Maroons get ready to take on the NSW Blues on Thursday evening in the 2024 Under-19s State of Origin match.

Zero Tackle looks at every player who competed for the Maroons at the U19/20s level and examines which players have gone on to play in the State of Origin arena.

Players that have gone on to the Origin arena from the junior representative match include Harry Grant, Patrick Carrigan, Murray Taulagi, Anthony Milford and many more.

2012 (QLD U20s def by NSW U20s 18-14)

The first edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by four points.

Despite the loss, Edrick Lee crossed for a double, Aaron Whitchurch scored a try, and Mitchell Frei booted one goal.

Over the following years, Edrick Lee, Dylan Napa and Moses Mbye would be the only three players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

2013 (QLD U20s def by NSW U20s 36-12)

The second edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by 24 points.

Despite the loss, Anthony Milford and Brandon Tago scored a try, while Milford booted one goal.

Over the following years, Anthony Milford, Brenko Lee, Francis Molo, Moses Mbye and Corey Oates would be the only five players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

2014 (QLD U20s def by NSW U20s 30-8)

The third edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by 22 points.

Despite the loss, Luke Bateman and John Folau both crossed the line for a try.

Over the following years, Valentine Holmes, Brenko Lee, Anthony Milford, Christian Welch, Cameron Munster, Francis Molo and Joe Ofahengaue would be the only seven players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

2015 (QLD U20s def by NSW U20s 32-16)

The fourth edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by 16 points.

Despite the loss, Alex Barr, Luke Bateman and Gideon Gela-Mosby scored a try, while Ashley Taylor booted two goals.

Over the following years, Lindsay Collins, Coen Hess and Jai Arrow would be the only three players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

The fifth edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by 14 points.

Despite the loss, Bernard Lewis scored a hat-trick and Gideon Gela-Mosby and Bacho Salam scored a try, while Brodie Croft booted one goal.

Over the following years, Jaydn Su'A would be the only player to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

The sixth edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD lose to NSW by 24 points.

Despite the loss, Brodie Croft, Corey Horsburgh and Tristan Sailor scored a try, while Sailor booted two goals finishing the match with eight points.

Over the following years, Corey Allan, Phillip Sami, AJ Brimson, Corey Horsburgh, Harry Grant and Patrick Carrigan would be the only six players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.

2018 (QLD U20s def NSW U20s 30-12)

The seventh edition of the Under 20s State of Origin match saw QLD finally defeat NSW by 18 points.

Jake Clifford (2), Corey Horsburgh, Tristan Sailor and Kurt Wiltshire all crossed for a try, while Clifford booted five goals, ending with 18 points.

Over the following years, Corey Allan, Murray Taulagi, AJ Brimson, Thomas Flegler, Harry Grant, Patrick Carrigan, Corey Horsburgh and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui would be the only eight players to go on and represent the QLD Maroons in the Origin arena.
