Parramatta have reopened negotiations with South Sydney's George Burgess as they attempt to have him join the club before the 2019 season.
It was reported that Burgess rejected an offer from the Eels in January and discussions have since been renewed.
It is understood that the Eels are willing to pay Burgess' Rabbitohs contract this season and offer him an additional two-year deal worth approximately $700,00 to tie him to the club until the end of 2021.
The Eels have been looking to add size to their list and would look to have Burgess as a starting prop alongside new recruit Junior Paulo.
Burgess has not been guaranteed a contract with South Sydney after the 2019 season, but it is understood that he would prefer to remain at the Rabbitohs with his brothers Sam and Thomas.
However, he is being encouraged to take the Eels deal in order to have assurance over his future.
