Bevan French falls out of favour

23-year-old Parramatta flyer Bevan French is open to a move to the English Super league upon doubt that circles his career in the NRL, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Despite being labelled one of the league's finest flyers only two seasons ago, French is now fighting to save his career.

He is yet to play a game in season 2019 but has performed strongly following his demotion to the Wentworthville Magpies in the Canterbury Cup.

Falling out-of-favour with Parramatta, French has attracted interest from rival teams, including North Queensland, Canterbury and the Gold Coast.

It is understood that the Cowboys have made enquiries about the Eels' winger being released by the club before the June 30 deadline.

French's management has also been in contact with North Queensland officials as recently as this week.

Despite the commotion and trade talks, French is yet to lock in a deal with any NRL club, let alone North Queensland.

The Cowboys are also linked to Penrith flyer Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, who was given permission by the club to explore options after the season ends.

It's understood that teams vying for French's services have little money in their salary cap to accommodate French, given he is on a healthy deal at Parramatta.

French's management is therefore open to exploring England as a realistic possibility if the Eels release the flyer.

However, all of this won't matter unless French can obtain a clearance to play in the English Super League given he doesn't currently qualify due to the fact he's yet to play an NRL game this season.

The out-of-favour Eels flyer will line up at fullback for Wentworthville on Sunday as the Magpies take on Penrith at Ringrose Park.
