Former Parramatta Eels forward Kenny Edwards has joined the Catalans Dragons with immediate effect.
Edwards has signed an 18-month deal, that will see him remain in France until the end of the 2019 season.
The 28-year-old was recently released from the Eels, after a run-in with police that was the last straw for Parramatta.
“Me and my family are really excited and looking forward to this new challenge in the South of France. I want to come out there and be the best I can be every day and help the team to win the club’s first trophy," Edwards told catalansdragons.com.
Edwards played 70 games for the Eels over six years, and scored six tries.
Dragons coach Steve McNamara was excited to welcome Edwards to the team, and said his signing will be a big lift to the playing group.
“Signing a player of Kenny’s ability at this stage of the season is a big boost to our current squad, McNamara told the club's website.
He is the type of player that will add something different from an attacking perspective and a player who plays with huge enthusiasm and energy. We look forward to welcoming him and his family to the Dragons.”
