North, South and Central Queensland are set for the first taste of the NRL's newest club ahead of their NRL debut with The Dolphins announcing trial fixtures across the state.
Wayne Bennet's outfit will travel 3,350km up and down the Sunshine State to take on the Central Queensland Capras, Cowboys and Titans.
The matches against the Cowboys and Titans were already locked in for the Dolphins as part of the NRL's official pre-season schedule.
Dolphins chief executive, Terry Reader was ecstatic to announce the pre-season draw.
“What a great way to start our history – by playing trial games in Central, South-east and North Queensland,” Reader said via a media statement.
“It will give all of our fans across the state a chance to get to an early trial and see the Dolphins play in person.
“We couldn't have asked for a more exciting way to start our history in the NRL.”
Capras vs Dolphins
Our first look at The Dolphins' red and cream-coloured stripes will be 6:30 pm Saturday, February 4th at Marley Brown Oval in Gladstone.
Bennett will most likely blood a team of developmental players and fringe NRL talent against the Queensland Cup side.
The Central Queensland Capras are signed on as The Dolphins feeder club until 2025 with this match serving a similar purpose as the Broncos' annual trial against Wynnum-Manly Seagulls.
Cowboys vs Dolphins
5:30 Sunday the 12th of February, The Dolphins head north to face the Cowboys at Barlow Park in Cairns.
It will be intriguing to see how much NRL talent takes the field for either side in this one after Cowboys coach Todd Payten left the majority of his first-grade lineup out of their opening trial fixture in 2022.
Dolphins vs Titans
Finally, the Dolphins will stride out at their home ground of Morton Daily Stadium when they face the Titans on Sunday, February 19th at roughly 6:00 pm.
Expect to see Bennett and Titans coach Justin Holbrook field full-strength sides for this final pre-season fixture.
