Queensland State of Origin star Josh Papalii has backed teammate Dylan Napa to fly in the face of self-care and play in Sunday’s game two in Perth.

When quizzed on Napa’s wrist, and whether he would play with a similar injury, Papalii conceded: “Probably not me."

“But Dylan is a different category (of toughness).

“And he will bring that mongrel that we need – it is courageous what he is doing.”

The Queensland prop was sure that Napa is the toughest player there is.

“I will give it to Naps. He’s just in a different calibre I guess with that toughness he is showing,” Papalii said.

“That will give me confidence that he will be alright.

“If he is fine to go then he’s fine to go.”

According to Papalii, Napa’s disregard for his own health makes the Canterbury tough nut a popular teammate.

“My bond with a lot of the boys in this camp is very strong, but Naps is Naps," Papalii said.

“Everybody loves the Napper.”
