Rabbitohs young gun Angus Crichton is still considering a move to rugby union, with an eye on playing for the Walalbies in the 2023 World Cup.
The 22-year old will join the Sydney Roosters on a three-year deal next season, but the exciting second-rower could not confirm his future in the NRL beyond that.
"I've got my future secured for the next three years at the Roosters, I'll be in the NRL until the end of 2021, so I'll cross that bridge when I come to it,'' Crichton told Fairfax Media.
"There's always the possibility to go back. To play in a rugby World Cup would be something special.
"Australian rugby is starting to build and they are getting back on the front foot.
"I still watch a lot of club rugby, and one of my best mates plays with Eastern Suburbs, Archie King.
"One of my best mates, Jack Maddocks, is looking to make his debut on Saturday night, and fingers crossed he'll get picked. I'll put my house on it he will because he's a class player. We went to school together.
"Rugby is a game I grew up playing and enjoy watching, and I could possibly go back one day, be it here in Australia or overseas.
"But right now I'm focusing on my 50th game and hopefully winning a comp with Souths.''
