The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs may have found their newest recruit after reportedly signing Blake Taaffe and Jaeman Salmon.

This time they could be set to poach a potential X-factor from a rival club- the Sydney Roosters.

As reported by News Corp, Connor Watson is the latest player to be named as a potential recruit for the Bulldogs, who have begun a mass rebuild over the past couple of seasons.

Currently, on the sidelines, Watson has yet to grace the field since enduring a major leg injury in last year's semi-finals loss. However, he is slowly getting close to returning and will be ready to go when the new season comes around.

News Corp reports that Watson will only need to pass a medical assessment put forward by the Bulldogs before they submit a formal offer to recruit him for next season after having discussions with Bulldogs General Manager Phil Gould.

The 125-NRL game veteran has spent eight seasons in the NRL with stints at both the Sydney Roosters and Newcastle Knights. Debuting in 2016 after two seasons with the Roosters NYC team, Watson would manage 38 games for the club before seeking a release from the Roosters to sign a three-year contract with the Knights.

After playing 68 with the Knights across the course of three seasons, he would knock back a contract extension from them, which would see him re-join the Sydney Roosters.

It is understood by the publication that two other clubs have shown interest in Watson. While unnamed, the two clubs compete in the Super League, which means the Rooster would take his talents overseas into another competition.
