The first casualty from another brutal State of Origin match has been named, with Bulldogs winger Brett Morris ruled out for this weekends against the Warriors.

Queensland beat New South Wales 18-16 to keep the series alive but as always, there were a number of injuries to come from the game.

Bulldogs coach Des Hasler has confirmed that his Origin winger Morris won't make the trip across to New Zealand, with his troublesome knee forcing him to miss the match.

Before Game 2, there were concerns that Morris' knee injury could prevent him from playing but he shrugged off those concerns.

"It’s a bit sore after the game yesterday (against the Dragons)," Morris told NSWRL.com.au last week. "I’ve got to do whatever’s necessary to recover but it’s no different than any other week.

"I’ll have to do what I have to do to get right for the game."

It's as yet unclear how long this latest injury setback will see Morris sidelined for.

Fans can expect more players to be rested from their club games this week, with injury clouds hanging of Johnathan Thurston and Boyd Cordner to name a few.
