Brown confirms Newcastle are still searching the market

Newcastle coach Nathan Brown has revealed the Knights are "actively" exploring the market, as the 2018 season begins to wind down to a close.

The Knights won't feature in the finals this season, and Brown is still trying to ready his squad for 2019, and is hoping to add to the list of recruits already committed for next season.

Tim Glasby, Jesse Ramien and Edrick Lee have all committed to Newcastle for the 2019 campaign, although Brown hopes that isn't the end of the Knights' dealings.

"There's some things in the pipeline, I suppose but nothing anyone wouldn't know about," Brown told newcastleknights.com.au.

"We've got one or two players here that are currently off contract, that we're talking to.

"There's not really a lot of movement going on out there at the moment.

"There's not really players changing Clubs at the moment.

"But we're out there actively looking like a number of Clubs are but whether there's anything immediately I'm not sure."

The Knights have lost Jack Cogger and Nick Meaney to the Bulldogs for next season, while Chris Heighington and Jacob Lillyman have called time on their careers and won't play on in 2019.
