The Brisbane Broncos will fight the charge against James Roberts at the NRL judiciary.

The Broncos will today plead not guilty to a grade one contrary conduct charge from an incident involving Titans’ replacement Ryan Simpkins on Friday.

Although the lowest grade of charge, Roberts would miss a game with an early guilty plea because of loading from a previous offence.

A guilty plea from the panel will still only going to cost the centre one week.

The Broncos are aiming for a not guilty plea to have Roberts free to play in the elimination semi-final against the Cowboys in Townsville on Friday.

The judiciary hearing is likely to be tomorrow night.
