Brisbane have added some depth to their forward pack, with veteran NRL lock Shaun Fensom signing a one-year deal with the Broncos.

The former Canberra and North Queensland forward joins Anthony Seibold's side with 174 NRL matches to his name, with 139 of those coming for the Raiders between 2009-2016.

The 30-year-old has played 35 games over the past two seasons for the Cowboys, and was a member of their 2017 Grand Final side.

Fensom will train with the Broncos for the first time on Monday.

  1. Broncos must wonder how Easffs are doing it

‘hi, I’m James Bondi, Secret Player Agent 007. You need to get a shoe Burt.’ James said, looking dashing in his tuxedo.

  2. You never know, the move could be good for him. But he is prone to injury…had a broken arm and a few more isdues when he was with us, and he’s had a few issues at the Cows as well…Yeah he breaks down a lot…but good luck to him. His defence is pretty solid, he’s definitely a work horse.

  3. Gangbangster with a dozen, I think you had better stop smoking three hats greenery, your already silly enough as you are. abstain from putting substances into your peanut.๐Ÿคก๐Ÿฅœ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿฅœ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿฅœ by the way your resentment towards your ex souffffffths coach of the year is showing. How does somebody win coach of the year when they couldn’t get their team into a grand finalโ“โ”โ“โ”โ“Just move on an except the old timer who in his old age forgot how to teach his sides how to defend.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚

  4. The funny thing is, if he had signed for Souths you would be boasting about great depth and how you personally had an intimate dinner with his family, where he revealed his long held deep desire to play for the Rabbitohs.

  5. Very smart signing by the Broncos. There are few players who demonstrate hard work and toughness quite like Fensom. His experience and attitude is exactly what is needed off field to develop their talented young forwards. If he can stay fit (a big if as greenblooded points out) he could very well make a significant on field contribution as well.

Seriously Rabbitwithdudzon and 3hats, i hate the Broncos as much as the next guy, but its not that hard to not let that hate affect my judgement of a player. To call Fensom a has been is at best a tough call, but to call him a never was is an absolute joke.

  6. I wouldn’t worry about attempting to educate any soufffths supporter, they do not have open minds and they all think that their players are innocent of all crimes and that their entire team including Macksville/Kempsey/Bowraville New South Welshman born and lived until he was 16 now Queenslander Inglis are local juniors๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ Yes and three hats has had sunday dinners with each and every player including the local juniors Burgess Brothers from England.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚

The other nutter rabbitwithdudzon only likes talking orgasms with 13 souffths players from the 1970’s

  7. I never called Fensom a has been, and I never would call him ‘a never was’. I said it was the beginning of the Brocos’s decline. Thaiday, Sims, and McGuire would have all been picked ahead of Fensom. The Bronco’s pack are too inexperienced op toe it with Melbourne, or Saints or Cowboys or Easffs forward packs. Seibold’s success was based on the Burgess brothers go forward and when that fell away at the back end of the season Seibold did as well. The guy wouldn’t or couldn’t organise the South’s bench.

  8. Perhaps Seibold thinks he can โ€˜do a Bellamyโ€™ and get the best out of โ€œaverageโ€ forwards. I donโ€™t think this is a bad signing, but I think the Broncos still lack an experienced rep forward – Gillett will struggle coming back from a neck injury, Maguire has gone, Thaiday retired, etc. Certainly some boom young forwards – but they will struggle in the later part of the season.

  9. I reckon your a has been Rabitwithadozen+1 when you have to think back to your favourite gangbang in 1971. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

  10. Say what you will about this signing, but I think it’s a good one. Replacing Josh McGuire was a job that could have been forced on someone either not ready or undeserving of it. At least now they have some experience that they can throw to the wolves if replacing McGuire seems a tougher job than the young fellas can handle.

  12. Talk about a nutter that caves in when a bit of pressure is applied by a Swooping Magpie๐Ÿฅœ๐Ÿคก๐Ÿฅœ๐Ÿคก

  13. Wow. A lot of cat fighting over a good defensive player with one, maybe two years left in him yet. I hope he stays fit and injury free for 2019.

  14. The pack has what it needs in size and go forward, itโ€™s the consistency that is missing. Lodge, TOJ and Joe can all get the go forward, problem is keeping it up for 80.

  15. No offence, but it’s not a coach of the year performance to take what was already a top four team on to win a premiership. Especially when you add in one of the best fullbacks around & the best halfback of the last decade. You’d just call that doing what was expected. It wouldn’t make him coach of the year if they’d been able to win it without the new fullback & half.
Now if he’d been able to win the premiership with a fairly ordinary squad of players? That’s a different thing.

  16. Obviously the has been…never was quote was from 3hats, I’ve included you in the comment as your “And with that, the decline of the Broncos under Seibold begins” comment makes it appear as though you think Fensom is a terrible signing that directly reflects the incompetence of Seibold.
You are right in saying Thaiday, Sims, and McGuire would have all been picked ahead of Fensom but its not like a player on a one year deal made in January is expected to out perform these players. He is clearly a depth signing made to address the inexperience in the squad that you yourself have pointed out. This is the first Broncos signing by Seibold and the exact signing they needed (when also considering other factors such as players available, costs and salary cap). Hardly reflective of someone incompetent.
Your criticism of Seibold re managing the bench and the inexperience of the Broncos pack are fair. But hardly reflected in your previous comment.

And clearly the nut of the year award goes to the emoji addled, dual profiled geriatric who needs to keep repeating the same lame attacks on each story published.

  17. No offence taken. But last year the Rooster coach took a team from 2nd last to 2nd on the ladder but unfortunately lost the Preliminary final like Souffths did this year. Under your calculations that deserved a coach of the year performance but it went to Melbournes coach Bellamy who took his team from 2nd the year before to first, practically what Robo did this year for the Chooks who improved his side from 3rd to 1st. Consistency in these matters would be nice from the judges. Still I know Seibold did really well for the Rabbits but in my opinion the award went to the wrong coach.๐Ÿ‘

  18. Cant believe the nut๐Ÿฅœ swooping magpie can attack two people then contradict himself when he admits Fensom would not be picked in front of Thaiday, Sims, and McGuire but it is Hardly reflective of someone incompetent.
