Brisbane forward Joe Ofahengaue has been caught up in a casino cheating controversy and is expected to face a Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.

The Courier Mail first reported the news late on Thursday night, withย Ofahengaue to front the courts on a charge of cheating by fraudulent act, practice or scheme.

It is believed the charge is related to an incident at a blackjack table at the casino.

Broncos CEO Paul White confirmed the news, saying thatย Ofahengaue had contacted the club and alerted them to the incident.

โ€œThe club is aware of the matter and has notified the NRL Integrity Unit about it,โ€ White said.

โ€œWe will allow due course to run and then determine if any further action is to be taken.โ€

Ofahengaue will not appear at the court in person on Friday.
