Brisbane coach Anthony Seibold says the signs don't look so good for centre Jack Bird, who suffered a knee injury in his side's 26-10 win over Manly on Friday night.
Midway through the second half, Bird went down with a knee injury and was taken from the field, with Fox League sideline reporter Andy Raymond suggesting the Broncos were fearing Bird had torn his ACL.
Seibold touched on the injury in his post-match press conference, and said Bird was "quite upset" in the change rooms, which is never positive news.
โI donโt want to prejudge what we are going to find but it seems to be quite bad,โ Seibold said after the win.
โHe was quite upset in the change rooms. That is not a good sign.
โBut it is good to have a quality replacement in Jimmy (Roberts) there.โ
Bird has played every game for the Broncos so far this season, and has been one of Seibold's most consistent performers.
Initial concern from Broncos medical staff is L ACL injury for Jack Bird, video also shows concern for ACL/MCL injury as tackler lands on lower leg causing knee to collapse in. Significant concern as hands on test for ACL highly accurate, fingers crossed for Bird #NRLMagicRound pic.twitter.com/YYYWf7o7fO
