The Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the extent of the injury suffered to forward Andre Savelio during the trial match against the Central Capras on the weekend.

Savelio will require a knee reconstruction and is likely to miss the entire season.

The 22-year-old signed with the Broncos on a two-year deal after spending 2017 with the Warrington Wolves.

He was expected to be part of the forward rotation for the Broncos this season and his injury will be a major blow.

Broncos' High Performance Manager Jeremy Hickmans has confirmed the diagnosis on the injury to English forward Andre Savelio.

Savelio injured his knee playing for the Broncos against the Central Capras in Theodore on the weekend.

He will require a knee reconstruction which will end his year.

It is a tough turn of events for Savelio, who only joined the Broncos in the pre-season and was just 14 minutes into his first match for the club.
