Titans coach Garth Brennan has provided an update on star halfback Ash Taylor, declaring he could return next week.
Taylor took an infinite leave from footy after round 12 to address mental health issues.
Brennan said Taylor was in good hands with professionals and his personal wellbeing was the number one priority for the club.
"Ash is tracking along nicely. He's in the hands of the professionals," Brennan told reporters after his side's loss to Penrith on Friday night.
"There's more important things in life than football. If i was a selfish coach I'd be forcing him to get back on the field because he's our marquee player. He's our highest paid player and he helps us win football games.
"To me, the person Ash Taylor is more important than the player Ash Taylor.
"He's in the hands of the professionals, he's doing really well, he's training the house down. He's getting around with the worst moustache I've ever seen," the Gold Coast coach joked.
"But he's in a good place. Hopefully he might not be far away from playing some sort of football next weekend. Whether thats in the Queensland Cup or with us. That's something we'll weigh up.
"At the end of the day he's a player I'm going to rush that's for sure."
The Titans are coming off one of their most disappointing performances of the season against the Panthers as pressure continues to mount on Brennan's position.
The club is set to reveal their findings shortly of its football operations review.
