Fainu charged by police, will face court today

Manly hooker Manase Fainu has been charged by police for stabbing another man at a church dance event on Friday night.

He is set to face court later on Tuesday, according to various reports.

The alleged stabbing occurred at a church hall in Wattle Grove on Friday night.

NSW Police issued a statement on Tuesday confirming that a 21-year old man had been arrested at Liverpool Police Station at approximately 8.10am after he handed himself in.

Fainu has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, affray and recklessly cause grievous bodily harm in company.

Channel 7 journalist Peter Fegan tweeted that he had been refused bail after handing himself into police on Tuesday morning.
