Blues’ Origin I team announced

NSW have named their side for Origin I at the MCG on June 6, with a record 11 debutants to be unveiled.

Boyd Cordner returns as skipper of the side, while James Tedesco, James Maloney, David Klemmer, Tyson Frizell and Jake Trbojevi are the only others to return from the 2017 team.

Tariq Sims and Nick Cotric have been added as part of an extended squad.

"I felt we needed combinations and balance ... I sat down with [selectors] Greg Alexander and Danny Buderus to pick our best 17 ... we put reputations to one side," Blues coach Brad Fitter told NRL.com, following the team announcement.

"The team comes first, we have picked an exciting group of footballers who play exciting footy."
