Under-fire captain Darius Boyd says he wants to see out his contract.

With two years left on his $800,000 deal Boyd doesn't want to give in criticism and wants to keep playing in the No.6 jersey.

The Broncos are hoping to offload the Australia and Queensland representative to help retain youngsters David Fifita and Kotoni Staggs.

“I know there’s been a lot spoken about it, but for me I just want to improve my performance each and every week,” Boyd said on NRL Tonight.

“I’m really enjoying leading the team around, especially this young group. There’s some special talent around the Broncos at the moment."

“I want to see it out. I want to see these guys do some special things in the future and I want to be able to use my experience and what I know on and off the field to help them get to where they want to get to.”

“At the end of the day it’s in the best interest of the team. It’s a team sport and whatever’s asked, you always consider things.

“Personally, I think I’ve still got things I can contribute on and off the field to the Broncos.

“I still feel I can play at a decent level where I’m helping the team win and gain results.

“I’m playing five-eighth which is a new position but it’s one I’m starting to feel comfortable in and I think I can get better at.”

The Broncos are eighth on the ladder and only one point clear of Wests Tigers and Penrith. They face Parramatta at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.
