The announcement of the NSW Blues' State of Origin Team is just three days away, but coach Brad Fittler couldn't wait that long to reveal Roosters captain Boyd Cordner will be in the Blues' lineup.

Fittler appeared on Channel Nine's The Footy Show and gave everyone a slight peek at what the starting side will look like for the first match against Queensland at the MCG.

“Yeah, Boyd will be in the team... if I were to pick anyone at the moment, barring injury, it would be Boyd Cordner," Fittler told The Footy Show.

Cordner, holding positions as Roosters skipper, NSW skipper and also Australian Kangaroos' vice-captain, has been under scrutiny from former Blues coach Phil Gould, who said that he should be left off of the representative side.

“For me, Boyd Corner’s football has stagnated over the last two or three years,” Gould told 100% Footy.

“He runs the one line, at the one time, every time. There’s nothing varied about his play; never passes the ball ... I think Tariq Sims is going by far the better.”
