Cronulla are reportedly considering tearing up Josh Dugan's contract for 2020, following an incident in Queensland during a holiday last weekend.
According to WWOS' The Mole, Dugan was involved in an altercation at a pub, with CCTV footage reportedly "not looking good" for the 29-year-old.
It won't be the first time the Sharks tore up the contract of a big-name player, with Todd Carney sacked from the club back in 2014 after a photo went viral of him online.
However, Carney went on to sue the Sharks for wrongful dismissal, and went on to win an undisclosed payment in court.
Cronulla has reportedly been shopping Dugan to other clubs for 2020, so this could be the out they were looking for.
How convenient
I wouldn’t want to see duges go out this way. Id say he just retaliated against some drunken boneheads as is the case most of the time with these sorts of incidents. Would much rather lose Moylan than Duges after his 2019 effort.
FWC, Dugan is on his way
Perfect candidate for the team south of Sydney, the rabbits. Very ordinary player. Three times on average this multi Academy Award winner goes down acting he is injured during games so the TV camera stays on him longer. Glory Glory.
What an idiot. Heโs has issues in the past which have cost him over and over and even years on he knows the sharks are shopping him around and he plays up yet again and can now get his contract ripped up.
Sharks get out Duges, get out Moylan and bring in Ryan Matterson. What a steal and great for their salary cap. Bring in someone cheap and young like Matt Dufty to replace him.
Hey Duges, are you getting the respect that the Sharks promised???
At it again BenHudson. You just can’t help yourself can you?
NRL players are big targets when it comes this type of stuff. He was probably trying to mind his own business but like previous times idiots just keep pushing and pushing, everyone has that snapping point and I hope the instigator got what he deserved.
Hope he gets another club and goes out on his own terms.
Cheers
Dugan for Dufty swap?
Dragons get a former player, a nice Fullback or Centre (preferably fullback) and Sharks get the cheaper and younger player.
Dugan was actually good last year, scored 11 tries (same as CNK, Ponga and Vunivalu), he had 11 line breaks (same as Tom Tubro and Hughes), he was third in the league for tackle breaks and was 8th in kick return metres which is pretty good considering he spent a lot of time at centre too.
