Rugby League legend Andrew Johns has spoken about the injury-riddled Sharks star Matt Moylan, expressing concerns for his current situation within the league.
Johns declared that Moylan has just "12 months to get his career back on track" after he emerged as a key piece in a potential swap with disgruntled Wests star Ryan Matterson.
While the Sharks are seeking to make some cap space by offloading bigger contracts, the Tigers are currently in negotiations with Matterson who is asking for a bigger pay packet despite having two seasons left on his three-year deal.
Chatting on Freddy & The Eighth podcast, Johns urged Moylan to lift after falling behind.
"Two, three years ago he was the next big thing," Johns said about Moylan.
"A big hope for NSW, a big ball-playing fullback. He could jump in and play in the halves a little bit.
"I think he's been treading water for a while. So he's in with a big 12 months, two years to get his career back on track."
Former NRL superstar Brad Fittler said a swap deal will be beneficial for both clubs.
"I think Cronulla need a back-rower and I think the Tigers need a quality fullback,โ Fittler expressed on Freddy and the Eighth.
โMoses Mbye has done a fantastic job at left centre, I think heโs really marked himself there going into the future so I like the change.โ
Fellow New South Welshmen Laurie Daley couldn't help agree.
โMoylan would be a great addition to them (Tigers) because he can create and score points,โ Daley told Sky Sports Radioโs Big Sports Breakfast.
โThatโs what they need to add to their roster now, guys that can score or set other people up to score, put them in positions.
โAnd I think theyโve identified that and thatโs who theyโre looking to target.โ

Prima donna.
Hopefully the swap happens. Moylan may find his groove again at a new environment
Dud…..Prima Donna….Over rated…..Over Paid…..Injury prone. Wests Tigers should have learned their lesson after the fiasco with Josh Reynolds, Ben Matulino and Russell Packer
I remember the reaction of the Sharks fans when Moylan signed with their club. How did that work out for them? Not very well.
With a massive need of Penrith to find a 5/8, the story Iโm hearing is Moylan desires a return back home. Cleary is keen for the prodigal son to return amongst the flood plains of Penrith.
Mark.mywords, Jerome Luai, and Matt Burton, are adequate replacements. I hope he does not return.
With Whare & Mansour still there. The last thing Penrith needs is another slow back.
Your correct Panthers. That’s not all the good halves they have either.
WoodMarks knows that. He’s just being one of his usual selves. ( As with the hundred sign in names ).
Lol.
