Power Rankings: Week 20

1. Raiders (1)

Friday evening saw the Green Machine running at full freight. The 46-12 win was as comprehensive as they come, especially on what is supposed to be a tough away trip. Josh Hodgson ran the show and capped off a near-perfect performance with a try. The Raiders made the most of 60% possession, scoring eight tries. John Bateman continued his incredible season with another monster performance. This team is the real deal.

2. Storm (2)

After a 90-minute effort last week the Storm enjoyed a much easier night on Friday by smashing the hapless Broncos 40-4. The seven-try to one win was absolute carnage on Suncorp. The Storm tore the Broncs apart in every asset. 10 linebreaks to 1, five forced drop outs to one, almost 60% possession, 800 more metres. If anything the scoreline may have flattered the Broncos. This was message sent for the runaway minor premiers elect.

3. Sea Eagles (3)

The Sea Eagles continue to fly high with a 30-6 drubbing of the Knights on Saturday afternoon. A highlight reel try to Rueben Garrick was the best of a brilliant bunch for the rampant home side in front of a huge crowd. An 8-6 halftime lead turned into a big win based on a dominant forward pack and brilliant half. Manly are right in the race for a top four spot and truthfully it's hard to see who can stop them right now.

4. Roosters (5)

58 points to 6... Sunday afternoon was near perfection for the tri-colours. James Tedesco continues to run riot, Brett Morris scored a first-half hatty, Latrell Mitchell was almost untouchable, and Sam Verrills scored his first NRL try. It may have only been the Titans but this was total and utter destruction. I wouldn't want to be playing the Roosters any time soon. I can't wait for the Raiders clash next Sunday.

5. Eels (7)

The Eels are comfortably into sixth spot after a dire 12-4 win over the Dragons. Young Sivo continues to find the try line and now tops the tally. Ben Hunt's unlucky run continues despite working harder than the majority of players in the competition. The Eels were just good enough on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. They're now two games clear of seventh spot and looking set for finals footy.

6. Panthers (4)

The Panthers had a brilliant opportunity to bounce back after a loss last week only to fall to the Bulldogs. The 16-8 loss came despite a one-man advantage for 10 minutes. Naden blew an easy opportunity to set the away side on their way but otherwise, Penrith just wasn't good enough. They had more possession and a better completion rate than the Dogs but just didn't take chances.

7. Tigers (9)

The Tigers are back into the eight with a dominant 28-4 win over the Cowboys on Thursday night. The five tries to one win allowed Robbie Farah to celebrate his 300th (and 1st) in style. Momirovski had a field day on the wing with a try, two line breaks and a game high 173 metres. Two straight wins have the Tigers in a brilliant position with a game against the Dogs coming this weekend.

8. Rabbitohs (6)

The Bunnies may have scored 24 points but were realistically played off the park by the Sharks on Saturday night. Cam Murray was a giant but Souths simply couldn't contain the Sharks' left side. Sam Burgess is set for a holiday after an awful high shot on Moylan on his return. Souths' completion rate of 65% sums up their night. They have to correct that before a huge clash against the Storm next Sunday.

9. Sharks (9)

The Wade Graham show was in full effect in the Shire on Saturday evening. The Sharks blew the Bunnies away to the tune of 39-24. Graham was irresistible while Bronson Xerri tore his rep opponent to shreds. Young Mulitalo scored a highlight-reel try on the back of a beautiful Moylan assist. Woods and Prior won the middle allowing Graham to run riot. Paul Gallen's last fortnight has been incredible. This side is completely transformed with the addition of Graham.

10. Broncos (8)

Friday night was a real horror show at Suncorp for the home side. A 36 point loss, ten line breaks conceded, and well not much else. James Segeyaro looked good when he came on and Payne Haas is a machine in the middle but otherwise the quicker Broncs fans forget this night, the better. A win over the struggling Cowboys this Thursday will reignite their season but for now, they'll be licking their wounds.

11. Bulldogs (14)

The Bulldogs recorded their second-straight win with an impressive 16-8 win over the Panthers. DWZ has a marvellous game against his former side. Incredibly they won with 43% possession but took their chances much better than their opponents. Aiden Tolman topped the tackle count despite a ten-minute spell in the bin in his 200th game.

12. Knights (10)

The Knights' free fall continues, this time after an awful loss to the Sea Eagles. Ponga's solo effort looked to spark the Knights for all of a few minutes before Manly continued their dominance. Klemmer made another 200 metres and Ponga is a freak but a side who looked almost certain to play finals footy now looks on shaky ground. Ramien left in a negative week for the club.

13. Warriors (11)

The Warriors had it all to play for at home on Friday night yet were comprehensively played off the park by the Raiders. A Harris-Tavita double proved nothing more than a consolation in an otherwise on-field pasting. The 46-12 hammering leaves the Warriors two wins outside of finals and with a terrible points differential. A few weeks ago the finals looked a genuine opportunity but now look a long way away.

14. Cowboys (13)

The Cowboys' season ended on Thursday, if it wasn't already over, after a horror defeat to the Tigers. Don't let the Paul Green post-match rant fool you, the Cowboys were awful. A 65% completion rate made it near impossible to get any momentum going. The over-reliance on Taumalolo to make metres is very telling. They now sit four points and a massive points differential outside of finals. A third straight Thursday fixture against the Broncos awaits.

15. Dragons (15)

Again, the Dragons were brave yet never really looked in the game against the Eels. The 12-4 loss was truthfully dire despite the return of a full-strength spine. Paul Vaughan's tackle despite his finger hanging from his hand will live on but otherwise another performance and result to forget for the Red V.

16. Titans (16)

The Titans are in holiday mode, or at least that's what their performance against the Roosters suggested. The 52-point hammering was just about as bad as it gets. Justin Holbrook best enjoy his hair while he has it.
