Parramatta captain Tim Mannah is reportedly set to join the Wests Tigers effective immediately for the rest of the 2019 season.

According to the Daily Telegraph, talks between the Eels and Tigers began on Monday, with the deal to be announced as early as Tuesday.

It is believed the deal would only see Mannah join the Tigers for the remainder of 2019

Mannah has spent 11 years at the Eels, and is one of the club's favourite sons, having played his entire career with Parramatta.

  1. What is going on at the Tigers. I thought they had sorted out their recruitment management team. Apparently not. The Tigers have ample forwards but are short of centres. I don’t think Tim Mannah is a centre. Packer and Matalino were great earlier in the year. When they were on the field at the same time the Tigers looked good and were going forward Now they are on the outer and look to be shopped around. The management of recruitment and retention is woeful and is just disrupting any fading chance of making the eight this year. Year after year this goes on and its not for lack of money this time.

  2. Totally agree. The club should be trying to offload Nofoaluma, Matalino, Taylor, McQueen, and probably Fonua. And have a go for some good YOUNG players like a good centre, a young half/utility and a young forward. Maybe Euan Aiken or Tautau Moga, Adam Keirghan and Jayden Suโ€™a

Keirghan is a good goal kicker and has good raps on him heโ€™s just gone from being the Panthers 4th choice to the Warriors 4th choice. At least at the Tigers he would be competing with Marshall and Reynolds who arenโ€™t far away from retirement. Aiken or Moga are both proven young NRL centres who have looked good in the past but havenโ€™t showed it in a while so could come cheaply. Suโ€™a would provide good energy and impact off the bench particularly out wide.

  3. jtg1231, well if it’s any concealation we seem to be in a somewhat similar boat.
We were looking at Burgess (Tom or Gerry) and Lodge, and obviously shopping Timmy around, but bottomline I’d take Tim Mannah as 1 of the “straight and hard” forwards in the pack anyday. He’s not flashy, but he digs deep, gives 100% and does his job. I don’t think either of our clubs are short of that type of forward, but I think you’re getting 1 of the best in that category.
I’m sad to see him go, but wish him all the best

  4. He wanted one more season at eels and they wouldn’t give it so leaves early I think he deserved the extra year personally
