Cronulla centre Josh Morris is happy to fill NSW's void at centre if he is called upon.

With several prominent centres struggling with form and injuries just two rounds out from Blues coach Brad Fittler naming his side, Morris could be the answer.

The 32-year old scored two tries and set up another in the Sharks' win over the Titans on Thursday night. And despite retiring from representative football at the end 2017, the veteran is willing to be an option for Fittler.

"If it was a last resort and there was nobody else, obviously you wouldn't say 'no'," Morris told theย Sydney Herald.ย 

"At the end of 2017 I signalled my intentions that rep footy was done and dusted for me, and it was time for the young fellas to get in there. It hasn't been a good last couple of days with Joey Leilua and Jack Bird going down.

"But there are still a couple of weeks to go and a couple of options. A young bloke might be able to put his hand up.

"James Roberts didn't play this week, but he's the incumbent and just needs to get his body right. He's still a very dangerous player."

It is believed that Newcastle's Jesse Ramien is also being considered.

Morris had faith that his form could hold up on the representative stage, but would be just as happy to see a youngster get the gig.

"I'd be confident I'd get the job done,'' Morris said. "In saying that, I'd be just as happy to see a young fella make his Blues debut as well."
