Greg Inglis' NRL career hangs in the balance, with the South Sydney superstar set to make a call on his playing future early next week.

Inglis is currently on leave from the Rabbitohs as he battles a shoulder injury as well as fitness problems, with coach Wayne Bennett to meet up with him next week to see if he's still keen to play on.

The Maroons and Kangaroos star has already confirmed he will retire at the end of the 2020 season, but there's a possibility that could be brought forward.

If it does, the Bunnies will need to be prepared to replace Inglis, and according to the Courier Mail, Brisbane centre James Roberts could be one of their main targets.

Roberts played for the Bunnies in 2011, in his first season in the NRL.

He's gone on to play 76 games for the Broncos, with all but three of those being played under Bennett.

Roberts has struggled with form and injury so far this season, and the Bunnies could come calling in the near future if Inglis calls time early.

  2. So retire a broken down Inglis and headhunt a broken down walking headline with alcohol issues and zero discipline off the field….. sounds like a solid plan!!!

  4. WE don’t need Roberts, he might be a junior but to much a liability and Darius is past his best also, even Bennett would be able to see that, just hope Inglis can get himself together although i doubt it, Goodwin would be good to have back he is a really solid player.

    Good to see Seiblod continue to lose, the so called super coach is getting his just desserts, all the big talking game plan speil he put to the Bronco’s is proving he is a fraud, they should have appointed Walters.

Manly were far more pro active all round souths played like a team of park footballers although cody and sam and a couple of others tried.one would think how can souths play so poorly and im not talking about reynolds boot all kickers have shockers from time to time.manly well deserved the win that day…

As a broncos fan please that him asap He’s a very very over rated player who won’t play origin again unless they have injuries he so sh#t he only play 5 mins a game, an he has a fu#ked attitude I didn’t even want him in the team this year after hearing him say he would walk if Wayne got sacked. HE’S ONE BLOKE THAT GORDON TALLIS WAS DEFINITELY TALKING ABOUT DISRESPECT THE CLUB ,JERSEY , AND ALL THE FANS. HE’S A REAL PEACE OF S….#+-*##+@*?+-$#*UT!!!
    I rate him 3.5/10 and that’s his best game.
