Issac Luke has given the biggest indication yet that he wants to stay at the New Zealand Warriors.
In an interview with NRL.com at last nights Dally M awards, the hooker said his intention is to remain in New Zealand.
"We want to stay in New Zealand as a family, my wife and the kids," Luke told NRL.com.
"It's a pretty important couple weeks coming up, we'll see how that goes over the next couple of days.
"My manager is doing everything he can to get a really good contract. In saying that, I am happy where I am and obviously I want to stay."
The Dally M awards was a night to remember for the Warriors as Roger Tuivasa-Sheck won the NRL's highest honour.
The fullback became the first Warriors player to win the award and just the second New Zealander to win it outright.
"It was a really special night for Roger, his family and our club and fans," Warriors CEO Cameron George told Stuff.
"We haven't been in this position before and to have our captain step up and win the award is really special for everyone involved in the club, that's from kids wanting to play our game, to our fans, members and sponsors."
"Everyone can really enjoy this moment, because it's a special one for the club."
The Warriors night only got better when David Fusitu'a was honoured for scoring the most tries over the season and Jazz Tevaga was named interchange player of the season.
The most memorable moment of the night came when theย New Zealand players at the awards performed a haka to honour Tuivasa-Sheck.
"To have Issac Luke, Jordan Rapana, Jamayne Isaako and Jazz Tevaga jump up to do that, I was speechless," George told Stuff.
"It was humbling that it was our club which instigated that. Todd Greenberg [NRL CEO] and so many other people made mention to me that it topped the night off."
