The Newcastle Knights have granted utility Tyler Randellโs request for an immediate release.
Randell is a local junior, who played from Harold Matts in 2007 through to making his NRL debut in 2014. The 24-year-old has since played 44 NRL games.
It was a difficult decision for the Club to make at this stage of the season, however, theย Club accepts it is in Randellโs best interest.
โThis is an opportunity that provides security for Tyler and his family long-term,โ CEO Matt Gidley said.
โTyler was a popular member of the team and he made a great contribution on and off the field over many years.
โWe thank Tyler and wish he and his family all the best for the future.โ
Randell will take up an immediate opportunity with another Club.
โThe Knights is all I have known and it has been a tough decision to leave,โ Randell said.
โI have loved playing here and I will definitely miss everyone at the Club, including the fans.โ
