Trent Merrin called up for NSW

Penrith forward Trent Merrin has been added to the NSW VB Blues squad as a standby player for tonight’s Origin II clash at ANZ Stadium.

Merrin comes into Laurie Daley’s extended squad to replace Jack de Belin, who was last night suspended for one match by the NRL judiciary.

Merrin will warm up alongside the VB Blues squad in the lead-up to the match, but will only take the field in the event of an injury in the warm-up.
