The Parramatta Eels have suspended forward Kenny Edwards for the first seven games of the NRL season, following his guilty plea in relation to domestic violence-related charges.
In addition to the suspension, Edwards has also been fined $60,000. The club and NRL have agreed for this amount to deducted from his 2017 and 2018 salary, so as to ensure he and his family have sufficient support.
The Parramatta Eels will also ensure Kenny engages in appropriate counselling, as sanctioned by the NRL, and also have him continue to perform community service, as directed by the club.
Edward's manager, Mr Chris Orr, has been involved in the discussions around this case and Edwards and Mr Orr have accepted the above action by the Club and the NRL.
Edwards will still be permitted to train with the club during his suspension.
