Ukraine are set to play their first international match since Russia invaded their country last year.
In what will be their first international match for some time, the Ukraine men's team will travel to Greece this coming weekend to play two games against the country.
The first match will take place in Goudi on Saturday, October 28, with the following match taking place in Aspropyrgos the next day on Sunday, October 29.
It has been revealed that the winners will be awarded the Unity Cup and the scoreline will be on aggregate over the two matches.
โThis is the first tournament for the Ukraine men's senior team after the full-scale military aggression of Russia,โ said Ukraine's head coach, Artur Martirosyan, via Love Rugby League.
โMany Ukrainian players, coaches and referees have been in the army defending freedom and independence. Unfortunately, we have losses among our players.
โBecause of this, we opened a fundraiser for the families of our fallen athletes, which will end after the tournament in Greece.
โUkraine Rugby League is very grateful for the organisation of this Unity Cup. Our players have really missed international Rugby League and are looking forward to this series.โ
Ukraine is currently placed 28th in the world rankings, while Greece is presently placed above them in 16th position.
