1. Round 7: The Dolphins v South Sydney Rabbitohs, Suncorp Stadium, Thursday April 13

We'll know a lot more about the Dolphins by this point but other than the derby with Brisbane in Round 4, this is another compelling clash as the game's most revered coach Wayne Bennett coming up against his long-time protรฉgรฉ Jason Demetriou for the first time in history. The two have worked together for an incredibly long time before Demetriou finally went it alone following Bennett's depature from Redfern.

Souths didn't take the plunge that many expected, and if the Dolphins can have a similar start to the year and exceed expectation this could prove a quality contest. It will also see Redfern cult-figure Mark Nicholls face his old club for the first time.

  1. Some interesting games for sure, but Raiders v Dragons? Really?

    Wests v Newcastle – to determine favouritism for the spoon?

    I’d drop either of these and replace them with Manly v Whoever in the 2023 Pride Round. Who will turn out for the Eagles? Will social media pillory the players even more mercilessly than this year?
